My parents are in North Staffs and want to buy a computer (their first)
somewhere locally, I'm in Cambridge so I don't know of any dealers. My
experience of boxshifter places like PCWorld is, shall we say, not
entirely positive. Here in Cambridge all the geeks go to www.woc.co.uk
but they'd like somewhere local so they can take things back easily if
there's a problem. Any recommendations (or otherwise)?

Thanks in advance,

Overclockers. They're primarily an online vendor, but they happen to
be located in Stoke and have a small showroom at their warehouse.
Oddly enough, both of my previous computers came from WOC (bought when
I lived in Ely), and my recent stuff has come from Overclockers.

If it will be their first computer I'd suggest it's worth going to MCC
in The Potteries Centre. I don't know what the service is like there but
they will be able to have a play on the full range of Apple Macs before
making that fateful Windows/Mac OS decision :)
