I am trying to locate a coffee shop / outside restaurant that I have been assured is located in Newcastle-
under-Lyme, only i cannot find it, despite an hour of searching on the net.

The coffee shop is located on the high street (apparently) and is not a building, eg it is outside (maybe a
mobile canteen) with about seating for 60. It is supposed to be on raised decking surrounded by glass
partitions. It might be called "Casper & Gambinis", but not certain of that.

Can anyone help me locate the place, maybe theres a few images somewhere ?.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I've no idea if this is what you're looking for, but a coffee shop
with a similar(ish) sounding name is Bellini's:

Just up from Bellinis is Ruebens on The High Street.

Partially on the left in this picture, next door to On The Square.

This coffee shop is not in a building, it is a mobile unit, but never moves, if that makes any sense.

EG :- It is on wheels, and could be moved if neccessary, but never does.

Surrounding the mobile unit there is supposed to be decking enclosed by glass partitions.

It is definitley supposed to be in the area where the market (farmers monthly one) is held.

A friend is considering a business proposition from the man who claims to be the owner (we live maybe
250 miles from your area, so have no local knowledge) , and i am trying to validate his claims.

The investment in our area of a similar proposed venture is in the region of £100,000.

I think he may be stretching the truth a little, is there perhaps a small "piaggio" type trike selling coffee on
the high street maybe, or a catering canteen selling coffee ?.

Does any of this sound familiar to anyone. If not in Newcastle-under-Lyme itself, maybe in a surrounding
town or city ?.

Thanks for the help.

Used to be held. And that's definitely not the high street. Well I
can't recall seeing this but I'll have a look when I drive past later.

It's still held there on the third Friday of the month on The High
Street by the empty Guildhall.

Sorry, I was thinking of the old cattle market. Still, I don't recall
seeing a mobile coffee shop around there which is why I wondered if it
might be by Morrisons somewhere.

Dammit, I'm going to have to find out now.

This is where the mobile unit is supposed to be, in amongst the market when it is held, it is supposed
to be open 7 days a week.

Thanks for the help, i would appreciate knowing the name of the company if you find it.

I'm beginning to wonder if the place exists at all though, as from the information supplied it should be a
real high class outfit selling coffee and pastries etc. I really do appreciate your input.

Not in Newcastle. I do try and pop down every month for the fish bloke
and olive woman but that's it. The Farmers' Market here does seem to
struggle to attract stalls. Maybe at Stone, Stafford, Leek or further
afield - Lichfield or Nantwich perhaps.

The person who claims to be the owner told me that he had this operation in
Newcastle-under-Lyme, and that there was a farmers market once a month.

I'm beginning to doubt his claims, or at the very least he appears to be
stretching the truth.

Is there maybe a mobile burger bar or something there that could have a
cappuccino machine fitted ?.

Are there any photos of the area where the market is held ?

What type of town is Newcastle-under-Lyme (sorry never visited), is it
considered to be a nice area with residents who might spend £2 or so on a
cup of coffee.

Ah, right, thanks.

If youre ever down that way do you think you could tell me it's name, and if
it is as i have described.

I'd really appreciate that.

Thanks.

I think it's called Gios, just down from Millets. I've never been in and
it looks like a typical modern cafe/ coffee bar.

Could be why the guy wants to sell the mobile one.

He's not wanting to sell it, he has applied for planning permission to site
it permanently in a local high street, which already has a large proportion
of cafe's, and fast food outlets, about 30 foot from McDonalds front door.

He claims McDonalds had given permission to use their toilet facilites
(submitted on the plans), this turned out to be untrue.

He further claimed that he had similar ventures in a different part of the
country the first was "Newcastle under Lyme", the second I think was Stoke.

I am objecting to the plans, and wanted to see what effect his current
venture's had in the town centre's mentioned above.

Thanks for the links (in a later post), much appreciated, but as expected i
cannot see anything similar at all as to what he claims he operates.

If you would like to see copies of the plans, theyre available online, and i
can post the link here.

Ive already achieved what i wanted to achieve, looks like the place doesnt
exist.

Why would you assume that someone who lives 2 or 3 hundred miles from
Newcastle would have any local knowledge whatsoever.

The Red Herring is very nearby. It can seat 75,000 on a good day, with a
wonderful view of Gloucestershire from the top.
